Turbinmeter Gas Meters
Turbinmeters measure the amount of gas according to the flow principle. The gas passes through an integrated flow regulator, which distribtues it proportionally and in circular flows directing it to the turbine wheel. Turbin blades are driven by gas flow and the angular speed of rotation is proportional to the gas flow rate. Energy consumption which is perceived as pressure loss,is reduced to the absolute possible minimum thanks to the application of flow regulator, high precision ball rods and the use of the most accurate tolerances of all measuring parts and their proper alignement. The circular motion of the turbine wheel is mechanically transmitted by gear wheels and a combined gas-tight and hermetic magnetic coupling to the index unit mounted at the top of the casing and indicates the working volume on the collector.
The basic component of CGT-02 turbine gas meter are as follows:
Pressure resistant meter body
Input pressure regulator
Measure catridge with turbine wheel
Magnetic connection as transfer element between measuring catridge and index
Index
Lubricating system (some of the meters have self-lubricating bearings)
Meters are mostly used for measuring flammable and inert gases. They can be used for measurements of aggressive gases, but such applications must be proven on an individual basis and and evaluated between customer and GASTECH.
